Job name: Church
Duration: 2014 – 2017
Duties: Contributed my holidays to looking after children at our local church’s holiday club. Age of children ranged between 6-13 years old.
Sunday School teacher to ages 0-6years old I looked after the youngest age group at my church and also looked after two autistic brothers. I loved this as I saw the trust from parents in having me take their children off their hands for them to have time in the church.
Reference:
Phillipa: BV is my mom’s friend’s daughter, so I have known her since she was a little girl. She assisted me mostly during the holidays and weekends and especially when my husband passed on two years ago. BV is a bubbly and outgoing person, and my sons adored her. I trusted her to be with my sons. Had I not relocated back with my mother, she would she be helping me out with my children. I recommend her, she is good with kids.
Church: Employment has been confirmed.
Ronel: BV is a relative of mine. I did not use her as a full-time au pair but she did look after my 2 girls during school holidays when I was working and also on a couple occasions whilst we were on holiday (with us). I wanted someone that can entertain my 2 girls in a creative and educational way and not just sit them in front of the TV. I found her to be very disciplined and trustworthy and although quiet and soft-spoken definitely not a “push-over”. The activities that they did include: physical activities like trampoline, swimming and ball games; creative activities like teaching them to braid hair, drawing and building sand castles; for maths skills they played various board and card games. They also did a lot of reading together. They adored her and always enjoyed time spent with her. My 2 girls are now both in high school and a nanny/au pair is not needed anymore. As far as I remember it was from the time my eldest was roundabout 8 and the youngest 6 and continued for +/- 5 years. (now 16 and 14).
