Nursery School 1: Employment has been confirmed. She was an assistant teacher for eight years. She is described as an amazing teacher and person. BN is also described as cooperative and team-oriented. In addition, BN was considered as a full educator that is independent and capable of handling her class, responsible, loyal, punctual, and trustworthy because of her skillfulness and work ethic. BN is good with children of all ages. Her previous employer highly recommends BN’s services.
Private Family 1:
Babalwa worked for our family from June 2024 to January 2025. We had just returned to South Africa after living abroad for 5 years. Our little girl had just turned 2 and her world was turned upside down overnight as she left everything and everyone familiar to her behind. Our little girl previously had a Spanish Nanny and Spanish friends. The move back to SA would be a huge adjustment for her. Adjusting back to the new time zone was challenging. Our once happy, energetic and very playful girl was sad, grumpy, and refused to eat or sleep. I needed a Nanny, but not any Nanny… I needed a SuperNanny! When I saw Babalwa’s track record I knew this was the SuperNanny we needed. She entered our lives and somehow instantly knew how to earn her trust and soon felt like part of the family. Now our little girl had an energetic and enthusiastic new best friend who played with her daily and turned her frown upside down. Babalwa painted with her, played clay with her, sang songs with her, and often played the “sick patient” very well as she let our little girl “doctor” her back to health. Within days our little girl was eating and sleeping well again. Within weeks our LG started to sing and speak full sentences in English! Her Afrikaans vocabulary also improved significantly with the help and support of Babalwa.
What I appreciated most from Babalwa was that she never needed me to plan any activities for her. She would take initiative and find ways to entertain her. She would turn the oven mittens into imaginary characters and play with old toys in new creative ways if she had nothing else to work with. She would turn household chores into fun games. Babalwa would always respect our instructions, wishes and intentions as parents, but she would give very insightful advice from time to time, and it became apparent that she had a lot of experience with toddler behavior and what works best for them. She often helped with the cooking, and I soon realized she is a proper “foodie” who knows a thing or two about making food taste good. She cleaned and sorted the toys and organized our girl’s wardrobe. She washed and assembled our girls food and drink items.
Babalwa entertained, fed and napped our little girl while giving us a chance to properly establish our new home here in SA. The contract was supposed to end once our girl started school in October, but my girl (and I) started to fall sick repeatedly once she started school, and she became ill so frequently that I had to withdraw her from school to give her immune system more time to strengthen and adjust. Babalwa took care of our girl daily until 6 January 2025 when she finally went back to school, stronger and healthier than before.
Words can’t express everything she’s done for us and the gratitude we feel for her. She will be dearly missed. I’m sure there is another family out there that will need this fairy godmother next. Go ahead! Employ Babaloo, you won’t regret it.
Private Family 2: I have known BN for eight years now. I met her first from the school she worked at, and my son went to, then came COVID. I was a teacher myself at a high school. When the schools opened, I needed someone I could trust with my son who was at stage 4, and my daughter who was 2 years old. And that’s not where our journey ended. Every time I needed someone to look after my children, I always knew there was only one person to call. They also prefer to stay with BN at home than their grandmother and that says a lot. She knows my children’s insides and outsides, what they prefer and what not.
There is always mutual respect. I am at peace when I know my children is with her because she looks after my children as if they are her own. She has several strengths to offer an employer for example she is clever and not scared to ask questions. She is always interested in helping as well as a fast learner. She is capable of improvising if and when required.
In conclusion, I would highly recommend her. BN will be an extremely positive addition to your organization or household.
Nursery School 2: Employment has been confirmed. She described BN as a lovely teacher, and would highly recommend BN.
