Duties:

• Attending to Alzheimer’s patients by giving them medication at prescribe times as prescribe by the doctors.
• Attending to their hygiene needs (bed, shower, top and tail, attending to their dental needs by assisting in brushing teeth)
• Nappy change
• Physical activities as prescribed by facility doctors
• Also assisted in the house visiting with my senior sister at the time, through that I gained a lot of experience in home-based care.
• Gastronomy feeding
• In the mornings, attended to see that the soiled bedding and clothes are removed and slushed and ready to take to the laundry.
• Made the beds and put on clean linen; also attend to and see that patients’ cupboards are neat and tidy.
• Basic first aid care
• BP readings and blood sugar testing
• Cancer recovery care
• HIV/Aids care
